Webster Wrath Travel Softball program by WFP

Wrath Travel Program Info

Webster Wrath is a competitive travel tournament team, affiliated with Webster Fastpitch, for 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U players who wish to compete in a more competitive league than recreational/town softball. We travel to various towns/states to compete in tournaments.

Players that tryout and join will receive: a Wrath bag, a Wrath helmet, 2 game jerseys, a practice jersey, registration for Fall & Spring rec softball in Webster Fastpitch, and guarantee of 5 tournaments between that fall and the following spring/summer. We have great fundraising opportunities that help offset costs, as we do our best to keep our program as affordable as possible.

Tryouts are held during the month of July—follow us on social media (or view at the bottom of this page!) for the most up to date information! For new players trying out, please let us know you are coming with a quick email message to websterfastpitch@yahoo.com (just include your name, age, any primary positions, and experience level). To request a private tryout (if you can't attend the scheduled tryout sessions for example) please contact us at the same email address.

Commitment

Our Travel teams are always on the go. We may be the town over or the next state over to compete in tournaments. The level of commitment is high. We ask that you do your very best to attend all practices, games and training. This sometimes means scheduling vacations around tournaments. We also ask families to plan to volunteer at home games and tournaments with field prep, facilities and grounds assistance, or concession stand shifts. We do our best to communicate the most updated practice and game schedules as quickly as possible. We usually practice 1-2 times weekly and games either during the week or on the weekend. Weekend tournaments usually but not always start on Fridays and last all weekend.

Playing time is earned, not guaranteed. We do our best to put players in positions to succeed, but coaches will play to win as best we can.

Off Season Training:

During the off season (Winter) we train indoors usually on a Monday or a Wednesday at Planet Fastpitch. We work on hitting, fielding, and we work with our pitchers and catchers too. Try to make every effort to attend all these training sessions each week.
We also offer weekly drop-in strength and conditioning sessions during the off-season. __

Wrath 14U took their show on the road to the Jersey Shore this weekend, playing Friday through Sunday and made some memories to last a lifetime. Sunday morning started out rough, down 3-0 after the top of the first. These girls have zero quit, and battled back hard. With 2 outs in the bottom of the first they brought 11 more batters to the plate, taking the lead 11-3. They held on to win game 1 by a score of 13-5. In game 2 they faced a very strong team, and showed up big, scoring in an each inning to win 8-6. Game 3 they fought hard in the 90-plus degree weather, but ran out of steam, dropping the semifinal game 10-7 with their heads held high. As coaches we could not have been prouder of their effort all weekend, but especially Sunday. Those 3 games were a total team effort, with 35 hits and 28 runs scored. Amazing defensive plays and pitching, clutch hits and base running. They truly put it all together, and we couldn’t be prouder. They have one more this coming weekend, and I would not bet against them. Let’s go Wrath!! ... See MoreSee Less

14U & 16U Baca had a great trip to NJ to play in the War at the Shore. We’ll share the story and pics from each tomorrow, but this one deserves its own post. When 14U’s Brae went down with an injured knee and had to be carted from the fence in CF back to the dugout, Coach Marc Perez didn’t hesitate to carry her through the handshake line. Great sportsmanship and get well soon, Brae! ... See MoreSee Less

14U is moving on in NJ after a 13-5 win that included a 11 batter 2-out rally in the bottom of the first! 16U Baca also moved on in a 1-0 8 inning war with Molly hitting the game winning single! Back to 14U… we’re missing #27, Iyla Huckins due to injury, and it’s her birthday, so 14U sent her a little love from NJ. Happy birthday, Iyla! Let’s go Wrath! ... See MoreSee Less
